Ace of Diamonds - Various reports 2018
Tonight was our Charity night for Arrow Riding School for disabled adults & children. We had fabulous evening with music provided by talented musicians organized by Pat & Dave known as Drover Duo
Total collected was £1.145 Val & Ken who run the charity were there to collect the cheque.
Our normal October country night we had Buntline Special made up of Chris on drums, Chris rhythm guitar & steel, Arty base guitar & vocals & George lead guitar & vocals. They gave us 3 good sets hey good looking, just walk on by, call me the breeze, simoriah wind,mind your own business & but I do to name a few of the songs they entertained us with. A few missing to night due to holidays & illness, never the less a good evening.
November. We had Montanna Country Band made up of Les on drums, Chas on base guitar & Dave lead guitar & vocals they gave us 3 good sets with a varity of tunes. It was a very enjoyable night especially for me as I was celebrating my 80th birthday which will be on tuesday. I was suprised by my grandchildren & great grand children coming. I also went on stage & sang a few songs with the band. Look forward to seeing Montanna back next year.
Ace of Diamonds Report - December 2017
For our last club of the year we had Porridge Band. Made up of Sandy John Ed, Beverly & Dave.
We had a good night wth a good crowd for this evening including friends we haven't seen for a long time.
We had plenty of dancing to songs such as people are crazy. me missing you. peaceful easy feeling.midnight rider.goodhearted woman. tonight the bottle let me down. blanket on the ground. mumma rock me. neon moon. good hearted women & tulsa time to name but a few of the songs they entertained us with.
We had a couple of birthdays encluding Ellie who had an 18th birthday she had a cake and the band sang happy birthday to her.

Ace of Diamonds Report - November 2017
For our November club we should have had Gone Country but unfortunatly they had to cancel due to health reasons but we were lucky enough to get Country Law to play for us tonight. Made up of Mike on keyboard guitar & fiddle, Dave lead guitar, Buss on base guitar and Alan Kay standing in for Frog on drums who was unable to get here tonight. They gave us three good sets for dancers & listeners alike songs, love gonna live her again, o lonesome me, six days on the road, loving all night, country rose. We also had a treat with Mike Courtice playing orange blossom special & the devil went down to Georgia on the fiddle.
We had a good crowd into night with a few birthday including mine & the band sang Happy Birthday to me.
Ace of Diamonds Report - October 2017
27th October we had No Regrets made up of Vic Oakley & Bob Common. They gave us a good evening entertainment dancing to eighteen wheels & a dozen roses, heartaches by the number, I just want my baby back, poor boy blues, stars on the water, winner loses all & little old wine drinker me.
We had a good crowd in tonight I'm still getting used to the mike instead of Buddy not helped by the fact that it would have been Buddy's birthday today. I think he must have been watching because I nearly forgot the name of the band which is something he did quite often.
Thanks for everyone who came tonight & hope you will continue to support the club in the future.
Ace of Diamonds Report - June 2017
Our Duo for June were our old friends Bonnie Diamond & Coe. We had a good crowd in tonight.
Although the weather was very hot it did not deter the dancers who we on the floor from the very beginning of the evening. There were a few of our regulars away but the numbers were made up by friends we hadn't seen for a while and Bob who used to run Denver Junction with a party of friends.
Bonnie and Dave gave us a brilliant evening with songs have you ever seen the rain, cannon ball, just to see you smile, suds in the bucket, summer time blues, let your love shine, places I've never been, poor boy blues & the fireman
Everyone had a great evening.

Friday 26 th May we had Clear Cut all the way from Leeds
They got a bit held up on the motorway not helped by being a hot day & a bank holiday weekend.
Even it being a long journey is didn't deter them from getting set up in time
Another family duo with father Don vocals & lead guitar & Darren guitar, keyboard, accordion & vocals.
They gave us 3 brilliant sets with dancer & listeners enjoying the music.
Some of the tunes they entertained us with this evening were eighteen yellow roses, heaven in my women eyes, all you ever do is bring me down, copper head road, Il Silenzio which everybody sat & listened to, something happened to me, baby likes to rock & sea of heartbreak to name but a few
Sadly the evening ended to soon but we will see them back again next year.
