Start time rolled round and compare TRIGGER brought on stage MARTIN JAYE and it was "Angelino" along with First Fool In Line" the Don Williams number then we were looking at the "Neon Moon" where we saw "Mr Man In The Moon" who said "Tonight The Bottle Let Me Down". MARTIN then took us to "Where The Corn Don't Grow" then there were some "Silver Wings" and the spot came to a close with "That's How I Got To Memphis".
TRIGGER then introduced to all MARTIN for the second time tonight who told us "Memories Are Made Of This" next up was "Love Her For A While" back in time for "One Step Forward, And Two Steps Back" on with "Baby I'm Right" and up went the tempo for "What Was I Thinking". MARTIN moved things on with "Heaven In My Woman's" then we were off to "Places" where we were all "Tempted" after which it was "This Is Where The Cowboy Rides Away" and closed the spot with "I Don't Hank Did It That Way".
TERRY and SANDIE then did the "RAFFLE DRAW" then the "WHAT'S ON LIST" then time for TRIGGER to bring back MARTIN and along came the "Gipsy Queen" then "Losing Side Of Me" and a bit of "Talk Is Cheap" then we were told "My Shoes Keep Walking Back To You". Up went the tempo for "Billy B Bad" and "High Class Lady" then through the "Swing Doors" to meet up with the "Goodhearted Woman" who had some "Falsom Prison Blues" and Martin closed the show with "El Paso" it had to be that one, one more was asked for by TRIGGER and this I suppose this was the right number as he sang "This Is Me Missing You", as tonight was the final night the Club would be opening it's doors, TRIGGER then thanked all who had supported the Club over the past years, as for MARTIN even though he knew it was the final night he put on a great night of LIVE COUNTRY MUSIC at the EL PASO C.M.C. From me thanks to TERRY, LYN, TRIGGER, MARIE and SANDIE for making me welcome over the past years and for all the hard work you have all put in over the years, thanks a lot.
El Paso Report - December 2016
Over to the Island again tonight on entering the hall it was all decked out with Flags and Tables set up ready for all to come through the doors. Start time rolled round and our compare for the evening TERRY brought on stage for the first time DANIEL BERRY and it was "All My X's Live In Texas" then onto "You Can't Read My Mind" then "Loving All Night" that started the show off well, it was then onto the old Billy Fury hit from way back in time this being "Halfway To Paradise" then we were all "Tempted" by "Billy B Bad" to go on a "Little Love Trip" on then to "One Night At A Time" then it was time for a "Blue Christmas" where we had some "Vertical Expression" then it was "Talk Is Cheap" along with "People Are Crazy" and the spot closed with "Same Thing Happened To Me".
A short break then TERRY brought back DANIEL and we numbers like "Big Blue Tree" along with "Where The Corn Don't Grow" and then met up with a "Goodhearted Woman" then along came "Where Am I Gonna Live When I Get Home". DANIEL also brought along the "Gipsy Woman" together with the "High Class Lady" who first had some "Summertime Blues" along with some "Heartaches By The Numbers. Then DANIEL then introduced us all to "Angeleno" who said "Just Wanna Dance The Night Away" and the spot closed with the old Randy Travis number "On The Other Hand".
During the break it was TERRY and SANDIE left to do the "RAFFLE DRAW" and it was onto the "WHAT'S ON LIST" all this done and dusted TERRY then put on his "COMPARE HAT" to bring back DANIEL for the final time this evening and it was "Take It Easy" then onto "Lay Low" along with "Baby I'm Right" then it was "Rock And Roll Is King" this was followed by the Triple Mix with "From A Jack To A King", "Take These Chains" and "Singing The Blue" then we were all off to "Places" along with "Here Comes My Baby" Other numbers heard were "Heaven In My Woman's Eyes" "You Don't Have To Love Me Anymore" then it was "Seven Nights To Rock" and it was "I Just Wanna Dance With You" that closed the show, but no it was clear that TERRY would have to ask for one for the road and this was "Guitars, Cadillacs". This had been another great night at the EL PASO C.M.C. put on by DANIEL with something for everyone. Thanks to the a depleted "EL PASO GANG" for making me welcome they were TERRY, LYN and SANDIE. Tonight TERRY handed SANDIE a present for all the hard work she has put in over the past years in doing the "RAFFLE".
El Paso Report - November 2016
Tonight on stage was one of our top Country Solo Artist's, so compare TRIGGER brought on stage for the first time tonight RICK STORM and off he went with "Talk Is Cheap" then we were off on some "Silver Wings" along with "Billy B Bad" and the "Gipsy Queen" who both said "Lay Low" out on the "Sea Of Heartbreak" and RICK closed a great opening spot with the oldie "Heartache's By The Numbers"
After a short break back came TRIGGER to bring back RICK for his second spot of the evening and off we all went on the "Long Black Train" along with "Baby I'm Right" and the Johnny Cash number "Falsom Prison Blues" which got the spot off on the right track, RICK then moved onto "Some Girls Do" then along came the ever popular "High Class Lady" then it was "That's How The Cowgirls Say Goodbye" then along came a Paul Overstreet number "Every Time You Look At Me" which was great and the spot finished as we all sat under the "Big Blue Tree".
During the next break TERRY along with SANDIE to do the "RAFFLE DRAW" when this was done it was onto the "WHAT'S ON LIST", there was another short break before back came compare TRIGGER to introduce to all in the hall RICK for the final time evening and "Someone Must Feel Like A Fool Tonight" then RICK said he was going to do "That's How I Got To Sheerness" (sorry maybe Memphis) then it was the up tempo version of "Tonight The Bottle Let Me Down". In his three spots tonight it was RICK included three numbers by Sam Outlaw theses being "I'm Gonna Love Her For A While" as well as "Angelino" and finally "Who Do You Think You Are" all numbers put over very well by RICK. There was a bit of comedy as he sang "I Don't Look Good Naked Anymore" then along came "Under The Sun" then we were all in a "Sea Of Cowboy Hats". Also in this spot we heard "Where The Corn Don't Grow" and a great version of "Islands" then we were "Loving All Night" which was the number that closed tonight's show. All round the hall there were shouts for more and TRIGGER asked for one more which turned into "FOUR" these being Triple Mix with "From A Jack To A King" then "Take These Chains" and "Singing The Blues" and the final number found us all sitting on the "Little Yellow Blanket", also if you add to that the George Jones number "He Stopped Loving Her Today" and then "Children" ......... brilliant then there was the John Denver number "Some Days Are Diamonds" and I think that was the best show I have ever seen RICK put on just brilliant, a brilliant mixture of numbers throughout the evening with a lot of numbers not heard very often.
Having just reported on a brilliant night at the EL PASO C.M.C. there was some very sad news as TERRY announced at the start of tonight's show that the Club would be "CLOSING IT'S DOORS" next year, so on December 15th it is DANIEL BERRY and the final show will be with MARTIN JAYE in January 2017. The "EL PASO GANG" have decided that not enough "BUM'S ON SEAT'S" over the past months have forced them to close the club as without "BUM'S ON SEAT'S" clubs cannot run, for me it is sad to see Clubs have to "CLOSE THE DOORS" as there is a lot of hard work that goes on to get the Club ready before anyone come through the doors. To the "EL PASO GANG" who are TERRY, LYNN, MARIA, TRIGGER and SANDIE thanks for all the hard work you have all put in over the past years to keep the Club running, but I know that without those "BUM'S ON SEAT'S" Clubs will have to close, so come on "GUY'S and GAL'S" in and around Kent get out and support your "LOCAL CLUB'S" because if you don't there will be nowhere to go !!!!!!!!.
El Paso Report - August 2016
On stage tonight was the Cross Country and Nam award winning Entertainer of the Year so what was in store from him tonight. At start time compare TERRY brought on stage BOB KEELEY and the first thing he said was "I Just Wanna Dance With You" after which we all had a rest on a "Little Yellow Blanket" and watched some "Disappearing Tail Lights" which got the show off to a great start. It was then onto the Don Williams number "First Fool In Line" then along came the "Devil Woman" the Marty Robins number next in line was "Love Her For A While" a Sam Outlaw number BOB then put two numbers together the first being "I Forgot To Remember" and then along came "She's Not You! then it was onto "New Shade Of Blue" and we all met up with "Mr Man In The Moon" who asked all "Is It Friday Yet" and the spot came to a close with "This Could Be"
During the break SANDIE was seen rushing around selling RAFFLE TICKETS to all in the hall, then it was time for TERRY to bring back on stage BOB and again a very good mix of numbers some of which were the Triple Mix with "From A Jack To A King" then "Take These Chains" onto "Singing The Blues" BOB took us all back to 1961 for the Billy Fury hit "Halfway To Paradise" then along came "Same Thing Happened To Me" after which we all met up with the "King Of The Road" the Roger Miller hit onto the ever popular "Places" then along came the Billy Currington number "People Are Crazy" and to close the spot BOB said he would do the George Jones number, so the Dancers were all on the floor ready to go and he started singing "Today I Started Loving You Again" then a bit of "No Show Jones" and he did finally get to do "Billy B Bad".
To the front of the stage came TERRY and SANDIE to do the "RAFFLE DRAW" with this done TERRY went onto do the "WHAT'S on LIST" then there was another short break before TERRY put on his compare hat to bring back for the final time tonight BOB and off he went with "Dream Lover" then took us all to "Where The Corn Don't Grow then told us "That's How I Got To Memphis". Next in line from BOB were a couple of Josh Turner numbers first "Lay Low" and onto "Just To Be Your Man" then we were all looking at the "Big Blue Tree" and underneath was the "Galway Girl" who was standing in "The Breeze". Then BOB took all off to a "Lonestar State Of Mind" where we all had some "Heartaches By The Numbers" along with the "High Class Lady" who said "You Don't Have To Love Me Anymore" and this was the number that closed the show, but no TERRY would have to ask for one more as this is what all in the hall wanted, BOB asked do you want a slow or a fast number the reply was "BOTH" to which TERRY said do what you want so off went BOB with "My Old Man's A Dustman" plus the theme from a Kid's program and looked at all and said well you did say "DO WHAT YOU WANT" this is what you expect from MR KEELEY but he did come back down to earth with "Here Comes My Baby" the Mavericks number then onto the Roy Orbison number "Penny Arcade". Tonight there were four numbers that are still on my mind they were "Remember" along with "My Rifle, Pony And Me" both put over in great style then "Angeleno" very popular at the moment and finally the "SONG of the EVENING" for me which was "Gipsy Queen". From BOB tonight a superb show put on at the EL PASO C.M.C. and you could see why he was named Entertainer of the Year.
I was made welcome by the "EL PASO GANG" who again had the hall decked out with Flag's and the Tables set up and TERRY thanked LYNN, MARIA and SANDIE for all their hard work in getting the club ready for to night and also wished TRIGGER a speedy recovery after his operation, from me thanks "GUY'S and GAL'S for working so hard each month to keep the club running, next month on stage will be FOOL'S GOLD on the 15th of September don't miss them.

El Paso Report - February 2013
FEBRUARY 7th and what a cold night it was but luckily we had a great turnout to see our band for tonight the RAY PETERS BAND, these local boys are always welcome here at EL PASO.
Poor Ray as feeling really poorly and earlier in the day almost cancelled and was considering taking himself off to hospital but thankfully he rallied.
Ray along with Shaun Murray on guitar and mandolin and Phil Bennett on that wonderful fiddle went on to give us a great evening, Orange Blossom Special with that fiddle was especially good.
We had something different tonight for our first 15 minute break as we had a showcase taster from another local solo act Martin Jay. Martin gave us a selection of his material and went down well with the audience and as we had quite a few local club runners in tonight hopefully he will get some bookings from his showcase.
All too soon the evening came to an end (though I suspect not soon enough for poor Ray Peters) and what a good night it has been. What a trouper Ray is so special thanks to Ray himself and to Shaun and Phil for a great night.
