Ace of Diamonds Report - June 2017
Our Duo for June were our old friends Bonnie Diamond & Coe. We had a good crowd in tonight.
Although the weather was very hot it did not deter the dancers who we on the floor from the very beginning of the evening. There were a few of our regulars away but the numbers were made up by friends we hadn't seen for a while and Bob who used to run Denver Junction with a party of friends.
Bonnie and Dave gave us a brilliant evening with songs have you ever seen the rain, cannon ball, just to see you smile, suds in the bucket, summer time blues, let your love shine, places I've never been, poor boy blues & the fireman
Everyone had a great evening.
Ace of Diamonds Report - May 2017
Friday 26 th May we had Clear Cut all the way from Leeds
They got a bit held up on the motorway not helped by being a hot day & a bank holiday weekend.
Even it being a long journey is didn't deter them from getting set up in time
Another family duo with father Don vocals & lead guitar & Darren guitar, keyboard, accordion & vocals.
They gave us 3 brilliant sets with dancer & listeners enjoying the music.
Some of the tunes they entertained us with this evening were eighteen yellow roses, heaven in my women eyes, all you ever do is bring me down, copper head road, Il Silenzio which everybody sat & listened to, something happened to me, baby likes to rock & sea of heartbreak to name but a few
Sadly the evening ended to soon but we will see them back again next year.
Ace of Diamonds Report - April 2017
Another club night, its strange trying to get used to only 1 a month it was 5 weeks between the last one an tonight's.
Our duo for this evening was Stonecold Country a father & son. Duo with Ray peddle steel and vocals & son Steve on lead guitar & vocals these 2 brilliant musicians gave us a very good evening entertainment for dancers & listeners alike.
Ghost riders in the sky,Gipsy queen, I just want to dance with you, heartaches by the number,seven nights to rock & high class lady, something happened to me, where am I going to live when I get home, & first fool in line to name just a few they entertained us with.
A good crowd in tonight with just a few missing due to the bank holiday
Ace of Diamonds Report - January 2017
To start the year at the Ace we had Longshot with Glen Long Les Evans & Shaun Murray.
We had a good crowd in to night and the dance floor was busy from the start dancing to tunes this could be the start of something new, guitars & cadalics, loving all night, Billy be bad, gipsy queen, don't close your eyes & I just want to dance with you.
A very good evening as usual with Longshot. We had a couple of birthdays Lucy & Teresa came all the way from Bournmouth with George nice to see them again.
Ace of Diamonds Report - November & December 2016
At the Ace of Diamond we had Redwood a six piece made up of Carol & Dave on vocals, Roger rhythm guitar, Phil on base guitar, Jim on lead guitar & lastly John on drums. They performed three fabulous sets of music you could either dance or listen to which included Don't close your eyes, please help me I'm falling & friends in low places which the cowboys & the rest of the club joined in with. They were a very lively & amusing band which everybody enjoyed
To end the month we had Triple JR with John Yates vocals John Ryder on bass guitar/vocals plus Dave Kirk on steel & acoustic guitar & vocals. It was the first time that Dave had played with the two John's but they all sounded good together. There were quite a few people in the club an the band treated us to a selection of tunes which included just to see you smile, same thing happened to me Billy B bad and lots more. We had a few birthday celebrations Margaret, Dionne, Margaret who was 80 on December the 8th. Also Bob & Doreen Anniversary. Finally I hope everyone has a lovely Christmas & all the best for the new year.
For the last month of 2016 we had McKenzie the first time at the Ace with Zoe guitar/vocal & Kenny guitar/vocal they gave us 3 good sets with tunes heartache's by the number, put on my walking shoes tonight, the same thing happened to me, restless, if love was a river, love her for a while & my gipsy queen. Another good evening
For the last club of the year we had Mocking Bird made up of Rob lead guitar/vocals Mick base guitar/vocals, Chris drums & Paul lead//rhythm guitar & vocals. We had 3 lively sets to put us in the mood for Christmas with a mixture of song not all country but had everybody on there feet. Songs such as hill Billy rock, that wonderful picture of you, all shock up, do the walk of life, here comes my baby, Apache do the walk of life & you look wonderful tonight. We had 4 birthdays Christine, Ann, Lois & Bob who's birthday was on the night the band sang happy birthday to him. We had a good crowd in to night & it was a very lively evening to end the year with.

Ace of Diamonds Report - October 2014
For the first night of the month & the first time at the Ace of Diamonds we had Boxcar Kelly & The Railroaders. With Tony on drums, Dave lead guitar, Michel rhythm guitar, Dave keyboard, Chris base guitar & fronting Boxcar Kelly.
They gave us three good set with tunes You're good girl gonna go bad, for ever & ever, walking after midnight, 18 wheels & a dozen roses, suds in the bucket, every little thing I dream about you, I really had a ball last night, walking after midnight,
& what part of no don't you understand. We had a good crowd into night & the evening went far to quickly can't wait to see them again next year.
Next was our Charity night, and what a night we had. Pat & Dave (Drover) Harley Davidson on base guitar, Nigel keyboard & Alan on drums which was our backing band for anybody who wanted it. We had loads of musician playing & singing to many to mention. We went on till 1am. Thanks to everybody who came & donated money and the biggest thank to all the musio for without you we would not have a evening.
We collected in all with some money we already had £1.400 which will go to New Life Charity for disabled Children.
Our last band of the month Gone Country Band with lead guitar Jamie T ,drums backing vocals ,Libby Jones, base guitar Terry Dowling, Arwen Bingham vocals & harmony & Stu Edwards acoustic guitar harmonica vocals & harmony..
They gave us 3 good sets to songs I walk the line, I gonna come back as a country song, get rhythm, the gambler, I feel lucky , six days on the road, ghost riders in the sky & I think I'm dancing with a man.
We had two 80th birthdays Dave & Clive both don't look their age Anita birthday & Jean & Chris anniversary. We would like to wish Veronica all the best & hope she will soon be out of hospital.
